Why should I apply coffee scrub on my skin?

1) It smoothens and Brightens Skin

The main component of coffee is caffeine and it has many benefits for skin. Cosmetic companies are incorporating caffeine in their product to increase the effectiveness of their product on the skin. Caffeine may be harmful to health but for skin, it’s a beauty booster. It smoothens your skin and makes even toned.

2) It exfoliates the dead skin cells

Caffeine has the power to remove dead skin cells and make skin free from dirt and dark spots. Sun, pollution, acne is the enemy for glowing skin and they leave us with their stubborn marks in the form of the suntan, dark spots, blackheads etc. It deeply exfoliates the skin pores and makes it nourished by providing necessary nutrients.

3) It removes cellulite

Another great benefit of caffeine is that it helps to remove cellulite on the skin. It dehydrates the fatty cells and in turn, water and fat disappear from the surface of the skin, thus minimizing the appearances of cellulite. Research at the University of Sao Paulo has proven that the application of skin cream containing caffeine reduced the size of cellulite fat cells by 17%.

4) Removes Wrinkles and Tightens Skin

Coffee has powerful antioxidants which give food to the skin. Free radicals are the responsible for skin damages, sun spots, premature skin aging, and wrinkles. Coffee removes the free radicals from the skin with the help of effective antioxidant and makes reduces the wrinkles and fine lines. TIGI Bed Head Resurrection Shampoo + Conditioner Review

It’s been a while since I wrote about hair products and I am glad to be writing this post! Today I’m reviewing the TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Resurrection range which has helped me restore my damaged and dull hair to what you see today. TIGI needs no introduction because of its cult products for hair styling and hair care which have been around for more than a decade in the international market. With fun bright packaging and cheeky instructions on the labels, TIGI products are just as ah-mazing as they look.

So getting back to the drill, my luscious locks have a fair share of issues and I chemically torture them so that adds to my woes. I have a thin straight hair and i use hair styling tools so basically i have some kind of damaged hair. It’s also pretty long and somehow that affects its texture from neck down. Thanks to this combination, my hairs feels kinda rough and I found a savior in TIGI Urban Antidotes Resurrection Shampoo and Conditioner. This combination is made for weak and brittle hair than needs to be resurrected from this state and it does the job pretty well.

SHAMPOO:

The shampoo is created with 25% more moisture boosting ingredients and cleanses hair well while moisturizing it at the same time. It infuses hair with hydration and makes it hair smooth and shiny. Not only does my hair feel healthy and shiny but it also feels stronger. Thanks to its anti-color fade ingredients, it also helps keep my color vibrant. In spite of being moisturizing, it cleanses well without drying the hair. I hate shampoos which are too creamy or moisturizing as my scalp doesn’t feel clean but I don’t face that problem with this one. It has a pleasant Goji Berry & Papaya fragrance which makes it a pleasure to use. The squeeze tube packaging is sturdy, convenient and hygienic. You might think the pricing is a bit steep at Rs900 for 250ml, but it’s worth as it lasts quite long and a little bit of the product goes a long way. I wash my hair about three times a week and this still lasts for 3 months.

CONDITIONER:

The Conditioner is a restoring formulation that is ideal for weak and brittle hair. It’s quite lightweight and has the same fruity fragrance as the shampoo. It targets the areas that are most in need of repair and works to strengthen and restore the integrity of the hair cuticle. Since my hair is quite dry from coloring, it helps ease out the dryness. I use both in conjunction and they definitely make my hair soft, smooth and manageable. The conditioner is priced at Rs1050/-

What I like?

– Beautiful sweet smell

– Softer and more manageable hair

– Of course it gets all the more brownie points because of attractive packaging.

What I don’t like?

– It is not easily available everywhere.

– Pocket pinch might be a concern. But the tubes are huge and there is large amount of product which will last you for a longer time.

Overall, I absolutely LOVE this range and totally recommend you to try it out if you have damaged, dry or brittle hair. I swear by it and sure you will love it too! 😘

TBS Smoky Rose & Shea perfumes review

Hey! After a long time I am back with TBS stuff 😀 I did a haul from there recently and haven’t reviewed it all yet, so here goes! In the past few years I have become very sensitive to smells. Most strong scents annoy my system and I start feeling sick or develop a mild head ache. Moreover with age I feel ones taste in fragrance also changes, rather develops! I have started to understand that I am drawn to warm, woody, nutty fragrances. So, today I am reviewing such fragrance that I came across only by chance.

The Body Shop: White Musk Smoky Rose Body Mist –

To be absolutely honest I am not a fan of most fragrances offered by The Body Shop (TBS). For me majority of them seem like strong citrus-y/ fruity smells but sometimes they do come up with gems like this. I was rearching about a limited edition range called “Love etc.” One of my friend suggested that I try out Smokey Rose because it is similar. I tried it on my wrist and surprisingly I kept on sniffing it for the rest of the day.

Product Claims: This sensually seductive fragrance mist opens with an elegant fusion of bergamot, pink pepper and blackcurrant, before rising to a floral-musky heart. Layer with other White Musk Smoky Rose products to build the fragrance. Sensual, seductive, floral musk. Cruelty-free musk

Cost: 1195INR for 100ml

In this range they offer a EDP, EDT, Body Mist, Oil, Lotion and Shower Gel. I chose the Body Mist because I like it light and airy.

It starts out strong and lightens through the day. The Tobacco Flower stands out among other ingredients and I guess that is the only reason why I ended up liking it so much. Lasts quite long (6-7 hours) on the skin and on the fabrics, does not stain either. It makes for a great everyday fragrance. I guess it can be further intensified if one likes a cloud of perfume around them, but two spritz is enough for my sensitive nose. The Smoky Rose Range looks promising, I hope they don’t discontinue it too soon.

Pros:

Priced well

Long lasting

Classy Fragrance

Medium Intensity

Cons:

Glass Bottle- not travel friendly.

The Body Shop Shea Body Mist-

I noticed they had a lot of new body mists in different scents – Strawberry, Coconut, Satsuma, Moringa and so many others. Shea is one scent that I love in most perfumes. I was bored of the fruity strawberry smell and I had too much of vanilla stuffs. SO I decided to pick a altogether different one this time.

This is the another one and i love this fragrance.

Cost: Rs. 645/- for 100 ml

It sprays a very fine mist and can be used lightly if you are going to work and a little more liberally if it’s a casual day out. The effect is sweet, yet spicy, and very warm. Would be good for an evening out. The shea essence is very concentrated in this body mist, so it’s good for those who love its scent.

What I love about this body mist is that the shea part of it is pretty strong, but the overall effect when you wear it is subtle, and it smells divine. Shea butter has been known for its calming and de-stressing effects.

Pros:

Lovely shea butter fragrance.

Not too overpowering.

Sprays just the right amount.

Cons:

Frankly, can’t think of any other than the glass packaging!

Your strongest muscle and your worst enemy is your mind.Train it well!

Train your mind to have better results and to create new possibilities.

If obstacles, conflicts or difficulties are present in your life, this article can help you. Take a few minutes to observe your experiences. Are you living a challenge that you do not know how to overcome? Do you want to have better quality of relationships? Does life seem too complicated? Well it’s time for you to take hold of the greatest resource you have, your mind.

The mind, your worst enemy or your best ally. It’s up to you!

I leave here two similes to illustrate how the mind works. It’s like the lens of a camera that you focus manually. Then, you decide at will what you want to focus on, and according to that, you will produce experiences and relationships. If, for example, you want silver platform shoes, suddenly you start to see them everywhere. It is not that before they were not, it is that your interest in them makes you see them, because you have focused your mind on that article.

On the other hand, imagine a radio and try to tune into a station. Your thoughts are what make you find that station that corresponds to your belief system. That is, if you think: men cheat, guess what man you will choose to establish a relationship? It’s not that there are no other types of men, only that those ideas that you have are what make you connect with certain types of people and experiences. Of course, no one in their right mind wants to connect with experiences and people that bring us pain. Then why do they happen?

The biggest challenge is that the focus of that lens that is your mind in most cases is not manual (at will). Your mind also attends to your unconscious thoughts, that is, you do not know or you do not realize they are there. These are thoughts stored in your unconscious, instilled at home or those that come from society. The worst thing is that they are negative in general and you have made them yours! So, one of the ways to improve your life is through having higher quality thoughts. So your mind becomes your best ally…

5 Surprising Uses of Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese and Ayruvedic medicine to remedy illnesses, including the flu and indigestion. The fragrant spice contains calcium, fiber, iron and manganese, and within its bark are healing essential oils. When organic ground cinnamon is combined with ingredients such as olive oil and brown sugar, it can make for quite the homemade beauty recipe. Here are five surprising uses for cinnamon.

1. Lip plumper. You don’t have to go the cosmetic surgery route to get a plump pout like Angelina Jollie. Simply apply a little Vaseline onto your lips and gently pat a pinch of cinnamon on top. Rub the mixture on for a few seconds and then allow it to sit for a minute. You will feel a slight tingly sensation from the spice — never apply dry cinnamon directly to your skin as it can cause irritation. Add another coat of Vaseline and you’ll have much fuller lips.

2. Anti-acne face mask. Get down and dirty to your pores with a homemade acne treatment made out of 3 tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Whip into a thick paste that will resemble chocolate and smooth onto your face. The cinnamon will stop the acne-causing bacteria, and the honey will work to reduce redness and restore moisture. Leave on for about ten minutes (or until it starts to burn), then wash off and pat face dry.

3. Hair growth treatment. Hair loss can be a horrific experience no matter the cause. One way to stimulate hair growth while giving your scalp some TLC is by using a weekly cinnamon mask. (Be sure to consult with a doctor before trying this alternative treatment, especially if you have a sensitive scalp.)

Mix two tablespoons of cinnamon and honey into a half cup of warm olive oil. Add one egg to thicken the mask. Comb the solution through wet hair and set for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash out with a shampoo.

4. Breath freshener. Got bad breath? Chew on a few cinnamon sticks or gargle with warm cinnamon water to sweeten things up.

5. Dry skin scrub. No one likes to walk around with “alligator skin.” To slough away dead skin cells and restore shine and softness, consider this do it yourself scrub made out of sea salt, almond oil, olive oil, honey and ground cinnamon.

Has this convinced you to add cinnamon to your weekly beauty regimen?
